Thread: What's Bugging You Today? Volume 3, Part 1

(To be honest though it's not that much different from what how I was in a work place, just a little bit and I make up for it by working for short bursts all day long).

I was on Ritalin as a kid, but no one every told me that I should be trying to figure out how to organize my thoughts on my own, and I'm not sure how much it actually worked. So I think I should at least give medication a try, because I've been trying on my own for years with little success.
I'd start by making an appointment with a therapist and go from there. They'll usually refer you to a psychiatrist if they feel there is a need. This is probably the best route because the doctor may just throw you on medication without getting a big enough picture. You may find that an anti-depressant may actually be the best treatment (even without severe symptoms of depression, it can still affect your cognitive function more than you'd think) or it may be the stimulant medication (Adderall, Dexedrine, Desoxyn, etc.) you think you may need. My advice would be to do cognitive behavioral therapy alongside the medication if you go the stimulant route. I'd also work with your health care provider to develop a plan early on to work towards a goal of being able to function at a normal level without the medication. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me. I've done absurd amounts of research on the topic.

I also get it constantly at shows I sell at. Here's just one example from the last show I did: guy comes up to the table picks up an NES game and instantly scoffs and loudly tells me that his friend just bought the same game for $7 and that he'll give me that for the game (I had like $15 on it) and I countered with $10. After that he launched into a rant about how since someone else bought the game at the same show minutes earlier for $7 that I had to sell it at that price or I'm a rip-off artist. I told him the $10 offer would stand as long as I had the game and he was welcome to walk around and try to find it for a better price... that instantly set him off. With what he said after that you'd have thought I threatened his children with murder-rape.

It's like these people assume being an asshole will get them what they want then rage when it doesn't work.
guy was a stupid dildo. Other booths charge less to get things to move in the first few days of a show/flee market.

My dad does that and he'll sale 500-800 in the first two days of a show. And at least half of that is vendors buying it up to keep lower priced stuff off the floor. Every year he'll sell out of stuff and come Sunday, some of it will be on another dude's table for triple.

But we don't care. We always make a profit and as long as it sales, I don't have to put it back in truck.

Its all an issue of wanting to make the max profit vs not wanting to take the shit back home. That shithead should have been able to figure out that you didn't want to get rid of bad enough to discount it that much. No reason to pout.

I don't know what all this antihaggle talk is about.

IMO, its ok to haggle for used shit. Double so if we are talking flee markets, yard sales, pawn shops, Craigslist ads.

No, don't be a cockass and low ball, but if you're in a pawn shop and you get 6 cds for 3 each, its ok to ask if they would take 15 even for all of them.

No. Don't haggle chain stores. 99% of the staff can't haggle with you and you look like a dildo. And don't haggle owners by asking for 50% off of their marked price. If you're in an establishment that has double the going rate for shit, you need to walk.

    Rain.

The second we got out of the car for the Disney Halloween party, the god damn bottom dropped out of the sky. Got soaked and had to go the rest of the night like that. Then it drizzled for 3 hours.

We still had some fun, but holy crap, what a murky mess to deal with all night.

I'm not even a huge NiGHTS fan and this bothers me. What is the value of these videos, again? They don't offer any insight into the game, Brad has no idea how to play (or even cares). Who is this for? Why is this site popular?
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1
    My Backloggery

  6. I like how the one guy acts like he is familiar with the game, then when the other guy asks if there's any difference between characters the answer is, "NO IDEA!"
    THEY'RE SO EDGY AND HIP!!
They remind me of morning circus radio.

  7. I'm playing a game with things to collect and hoops to fly through. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!
    These guys are asshats.
"The videogame tribalism that existed back then." Like that shit doesn't happen these days.
"I'm confused about what I'm supposed to do."
These dicks have no sense of playing for score do they?

    7:00 minutes in, I'm out.
The good news is that if someone ever wants to do a Pineapple Express cartoon and needs a voice actor for the Seth Rogan character, the one dude could totally do it.

  8. How is this video 30 minutes? It's not even remotely funny or interesting.

This reminds of a Retronauts podcast for the Neo•Geo. They speak for like two whole hours about a system none of them know anything worthwhile about. When someone has an interesting point, they nerd rage and interrupt him with a horrible joke. Two whole hours of that. Nerds talking over each other about nothing. Why?

A friend of mine loves it.

The podcast reminds me of why I don't like nerds, even though I'm probably one of them.

    You're the worst one.
