So the trailer for the LONG awaited Jackie Chan/Jet Li film has been released (you can see it here) and it might be because I am such a huge fan of the two but the trailer makes the film look pretty damn good. Hits theaters in April.

I will eventually watch this, but cant say I like the wirefu all that much and this one is full of it. Still looks neat.

So I caught this last night without to much of a high hope but I left reasonably happy. Wasn't to thrilled with the whole "Neverending Story" theme going on but the cast (minus the kid) made up for it. It had some funny parts, some good fight scenes (the 10 minute fight scene between Jackie and Jet was good for Jackie being 54 and Jet being 45), and some cool locations.

Don't go in expecting a martial arts epic because it is far from that but it is a decent fantasy movie. I just hope that the two can do another film that the characters are not forced to babysit some American kid.

It beat my expectations, I had a fun time watching it. Really well made and I didn't hate the kid like I thought. The guy playing the Boston Bully on the other hand....ugh. Everything that was "real world" was crummy but they hustle through that in the beginning to get to the fun stuff.

A light, easy movie with some really great choreography. I loved Jackie in this, it was so fucking cool seeing him and Jet work together. Made up for Rush Hour 3.

It's a common theme for stupid Hollywood movies to shoehorn in a nice white, wisecracking American boy whenever the plot of a movie involves monsters (Hellboy), Asians (this movie), assorted foreigners (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), or anthing else out of the norm. It's so we have a character we can "relate" to.

It's fucking stupid, especially when said white wisecracking American boy always winds up being a totally lame and annoying asshole.

I saw this and I have to agree it wasn't bad at all. Even the white kid wasn't that annoying. Considering what an awful train wreck this could have been it wasn't half bad at all.
