I have found two Slug 3 machines both within 20 minutes of my house. This like, NEVER happens, because we have crap for arcades... or so I thought.

Check a little harder Despair, maybe you'll find an arcade that you never knew existed or something (kinda like I did !!).

  3. Well, I wish I had time to drive around the town, looking for hidden arcades Not like we have many of those in Milwaukee anyway.

And I dont see no problem, if I want to try the game. Its not like I will not going to buy it, if it ever gets released on PS2 or any other console. I just CANT spent $300 on it. Its always easy for people to say, just buy the game, but many of them dont have families and houses to take care of, so its easy for them save and drop $300 for the game.

If I would do that, my wife would KILL me, no matter all the love for me and gaming she has

And its not like I'm a pirate, and only own a stolen copies of the games or anyhting.

I can guarantee you that Despair will not find one. Arcades suck in local residential areas. Dude the only place i played Metal slug 3 in an arcade was in the country Chile in South America!......yes im south american.

So Despair I give you the "Go ahead and Goooo!!!" to emu.

Yea, cant say nothing bad about that. I dont have to take care of a family, I'm just some spoiled 20 year old in college.

Its easy for me to spend 300 dollars on a game.

I don't often disagree with you, Despair, but I hate this logic. If you can't afford something, you do without it, period. If a Ferrarri was owned by a coporation, so no individual was harmed if it went missing, would you steal it, simply because you can't afford the $300,000 price tag?

  7. Well, I would gladly play it in the arcade, IF I HAD said said choice. But since the chances of me actually playing the arcade machine are pretty non existant, trying the rom would be only viable option for me.

    Trying, NOT KEEPING forever.

I would love to have a console port that we all could afford, and I dont condone the gaming piracy, but why not be able to try the game just once to see if you like it or not.

As for above mentioned Ferrari example, I bet you CAN take it for the TEST ride, if they like you on that dealership

That's a valid point. The "quick trial" has always been a gray area in emulation discussions.

  9. I must confess that I also did a "quick trial" of Metal Slug 3 on my PC before buying. I can never enjoy it on my PC tho' because I'm afraid of taking any of the "play" out of it. I want it to be new and fresh when I finally get the real version, so my "quick trials" never go past the first level. "Quick trials" are also a life saver when dealing with import carts on Ebay that don't have any review on Gamefaqs or anywhere like that.

  10. If you're going to spend $300 on a game, it would be nice to be able to try it out first. I was lucky to play it for about 5 minutes in an arcade which was reason enough for me to put down the cash for it.

And all you MS3 players should check out the score competition we've got going in the high score forum. One of us is bound to beat this thing on a credit...
