It hasn't been stated, but it seems the patch makes the shotgun more effective at close range and less effective at long range, making it much better. At least it seems that way as the shotgun was working much better for me last night.

just finished the book as well. Overall, I really liked it and thought it did a good job of explaining a lot of things, but there is still a bit of explaining to do left for future games/books. The epilogue does a great job of leading into Gears 2.

I really hope this isn't the road they are going, but I really doubt that is going to be the case. The Hive just seems way too old to have been made within the last 14 years. Not to mention where did reavers, corpsers, brumaks, etc, all come from? Drones seem like they could have come from humans, but nothing else does. Also, I think the sirens were an experiment on Locusts. Also, here is an excerpt from the book. It's a quote by the Locust Queen before the Epilogue.

"We could have cooperated with the groundwalkers for our mutual salvation, but they are humans, and they only understand dominance and ownership. All that we have left is a war to the death. For all their so-called intelligence, humans are blind to the threat right before their eyes. We never stood a chance of enlisting their aid, so now we fight alone. And we will stand on their corpses to do so."

I think there may have been knowledge of the Locust before E-Day, but I have a hard time believing that either the humans created the Locusts, or that imulsion turned humans into Locust.

I am totally down for it. Maybe Biff and I can do a podcast just on the Gears universe. We can call it Tears 4 Gears.

Did gears 2 set a bar for graphics this gen? Whatever happened to if you want good graphics you play p.c games?

Anyways 2nd person that claims their unfinished game already has better graphics than gears2.

Is this the new trend to hype up games now? As far as I know gears 1&2 ain't in this for graphics. We all know it sold good cause of the gameplay.

Oh I find it hilarious also that Midway has claimed this.
