I went to the Gears Seattle event on Friday anyway. Here are some quick and dirty highlights.
The map they showed was Nowhere, an abandoned Old West looking place. Seems decent, but I only got to play it on Horde, so I have no idea if the map is really good for 5v5 Execution.
The panel explained the deleted chapter that will be available in the retail add-on. Remember in Act 4 when Marcus picks up the Theron Guard costume and it looked like you guys might enter the stronghold in disguise? Originally the player had a choice to go as Marcus said, "guns blazing", or to sneak in. Because the sneak-in scene wasn't polished enough, it was cut and you automatically went with "Guns blazing".
The deleted scene is a stealth mission, but you can forgo that and go guns blazing anyway if you want.
If you want to know what happened to Tai and Dizzy, that story will explained in Gears of War comic #7. #9 starts a five-part arc called Barren which explains why they are no female COG soldiers in the battlefield. The covers for those issues are drawn by Jim Lee and Baird will play in a big role in that arc.
There will be an Immulsion energy drink.
Gears of War Comicon Exclusives are a Lambent Locust action figure and a Raam vs Kim piece.
Some T-shirts were shown. Expect a Cole Train shirt and a "Cog Life" shirt.
The panel remained tight-lipped about Gears of War 3, but it's apparent that this add-on will be the last GoW2 DLC.
