This thread got me to buy the game and it's really, really great. There's no one out there for matches at this point in the day, though.

Are you supposed to come out of successful bonus rounds with a stronger version of the weapon you had equipped prior to entering one? When I shoot the flashing UFO with the bomb, I get a big bomb. When I shoot it with the pea shooter, I get the pea shooter that breaks off horizontally. When I shoot it with the spread, I get the big spread. And when I shoot it with the laser, I get...the big spread.
I've never once got the huge laser that I've read about. Is there some kind of special requirement?

The giant laser you'll get after the bonus round "defeat 10 Giant Invaders." You use the regular blue laser during it.
I haven't really figured out any pattern as far as triggering which bonus round you'll be thrown into. There are about 4 or 5 rarer rounds that I've only seen a couple times each so far.
I finally got the huge laser today. Now I can see why the game is so reluctant to hand it out; it's ridiculous. Getting this during a Break-extended Fever Time would be absurd.
Ain't that the truth.

Wow pretty much sums up my feeling on this game, I know alot of people praised this, but man, I am loving this like I loved games back when I gave a damn
I was reading in the instructions that there's a rumble feature if you have the rumble pack. I know its cool to have the paddle and all, but does the rumble add any enjoyability to the game?
Also, anyone up for some online matches? I'm ok with getting whipped to learn how the online game works.
Yeah, late to the party as well but, damn. This is all I'm playing. And I'm playing it at embarrassingly long stretches at a time. I love bullet hell with all my heart, but this is such a refreshing change I can't get enough. The scoring possibilities totally geek me out.
4c is easily my favorite so far. So much opportunity to unleash destruction.
