It looks interesting- it would not surprise me a bit if these patterns are accurate. I'll be wondering what Seven Force says about this one.
For a little bit of fun, I tried moving the mouse pointer around to dodge the bullets.
Kenta Cho, author of the "Ikaruga simulator", has created a
program that will convert BulletML code to a Macromedia
Flash program. To demonstrate his program, he simulated
bullet patterns from DoDonPachi Dai-Ou-Jou.

I'm going to make a few guesses on where these patterns
show up in the real game. The URL above links you to a page
which has a Flash animation that shows the first stage
boss's bullet patterns. There are links to the BulletML
code behind the five swirly patterns, another piece of code
which looks like a more extreme version of the first
pattern, and an animation of the bullet patterns seen in
the second loop.
Dai-Ou-Jou players, I have a few questions. Do all these
patterns come from the first boss? How accurately does the
author depict these bullet patterns? And how tough are they
to dodge?

that web site, I decided to stick the code into this Java
applet:
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu...ml_applet.html
Somehow, it worked! Now we could use our mouse pointers to
dodge those bullets and know when we're hit. I've yet to
find a way to include all five patterns in sequence. I've
tried sticking them all in one document, but the five
patterns all fired at once--very scary, that.
I've also toyed around with the code, adjusting a few
numbers here and there. After a couple of minutes, I have a
bit of an idea how these patterns are constructed.

That 5th one is mean, man. That's just mean!
Boo, Hiss.
oh man, that game is just asking for it. i can't wait to get my hands on it.
hmm...maybe i've changed my mind. i've been playing a lot of Dodonpachi lately, maybe i will end up looking forward to this more than Ikaruga.
I agree. Ikaruga is getting so much hype, but pound for pound the new dodonpachi will be just as good.Originally posted by Lucas Barton

Dodonpachi is my favorite shmup, so i was always looking forward to this.Originally posted by flashmastergrand

thing is, i've never played a Treasure shmup except for Bangai-o (if you wanna call that a shmup), so Ikaruga looks really new and fresh to me, and Radiant Silvergun should arrive in the mail any day now. so i can finally judge for myself. but that's really the only reason im hyping the Treasure shmups (aside from being shmups), is because they're completely new to me.
but yeah, this game is definatley gonna kick some ass. look at it, it's soooo asking for it. i can't wait to play this.

Hmm... In the http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cy...tml_applet.html link there's a set of patterns from a game simply identified as "Progear". I'm um... er... not familiar with that one -hides head in shame- Any info on it?

Excellent, thanks Dog$.
Time to go research a shooter. A tough task, but I supposed I'll manage somehow...
