Thread: Wall-E

  1. I liked Ratatouille but didn't love it. And I didn't find Cars redeeming at all. I thought the trademark Pixar imagination-dripping quality was really missing. This movie looks like it's more focused on the character with a simple story and a great atmosphere for animation (outer space, awesome).

I didn't like the Wall-E character until I saw it interact. Now I think it's the bee's knees.

    I'll see this D1.`
Cars was the last one I was not excited for, and I ended up loving the everloving fuck out of it.

This is D1 for me too, but I'm always afraid they won't be good, you know?

There are no rules, only consequences.

  3. This trailer just gave me the feeling that the movie will be really pure and genuine. Basically the complete opposite of the Bee Movie.

I don't think Ratatouille can be topped through.

  4. I ended up liking Doc Hollywood: Pixar Edition a lot more than I thought I would, though it does skew a lot younger than most of their other movies.

More like the old betty boop and popeye cartoons where there's very little dialog. I definitely love those. Animation by animators ftw.

  6. Clearly there's not enough Ray Romono dialog in 'em, though. But with the magic of computers.... PROBLEM SOLVED?

  7. Apparently Cars was purposely geared more towards the children. I've never watched A Bug's Life all the way through. Been meaning to, though. The Incredibles 2 can't come fast enough IMO.

  9. This looks absolutely amazing, somehow Pixar managed to raise the bar on the quality of their animation. Definitely day 1.

And Meet the Robinsons is actually a pretty good movie, I'd go as far as saying it's the best Non-Pixar animated Disney movie in probably a decade, or at least the one I enjoyed the most.

  10. It looked good. I saw a lot of concept stuff on CG Society that I really enjoyed -- was it the one with the old 1800's style villain with a black mustache in a black suit?
