Those were the days. Cheap oil and winnable wars.
Gas was under a dollar per gallon for a while back in 1997. Might have been 96?

My records show I paid $1.91 for gas on May 23, 2005 and only $1.14 in Jan '02, so it hasn't been 16 years. I'm pretty sure it was <$1 in the late '90s during the Asian economic recession. <- Edit: beaten to itLight, sweet crude for January delivery fell 51 cents to close at $49.93 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The decline brings oil to its lowest level since May 24, 2005 when it settled at $49.67 a barrel.
It was almost $1 cheaper 16 years ago. I think it was about 12 years ago when it started the steady climb.
Anyways, I filled my tank up for $25 the other day. Four months ago, I had a fill-up cost me $57.
Speaking of health insurance...do you idiots have any fucking idea how hard it is to get insurance for some of us? Or having to choose between a job that pays a lot more with no benefits vs one that pays way less but has benefits? Tell me how I'm supposed to afford that without any employer coverage (which I have, thank god, but the costs are still killing me)? I can't even find a fucking job now to help my income a little bit. Just because some of you don't have these problems doesn't mean that they don't exist. I heard fantasy land was back that way Yoshi, you must've missed the turn.
It costs me $2something to fill up my tank and I get 120 mpg. Suck it, losers.
Do you have a magic car?
