As far as saving money by not having to prosecute dealers/users, do you know how much money the gov'ment makes from seizing these dealers assests? Me neither, but I bet it far outweighs the little bit of money it takes to run a court room for half an hour.
I'm sure money is made on Seizures, but I'm also pretty sure a shit load of money is wasted on prosecuting and jailing petty pot dealers/users. I'd prefer my tax dollars be spent on arresting, prosecuting, and jailing REAL criminals (i.e, murderers, rapists, and child molesters). Considering that there are a lot of people out there smoking pot and 1 in 3 in this country have at least tried it, that's a lot money just sitting on the table. We should just legalize it, sit back, and let the money roll in.
Besides, I'm sure that would also help out the food services industry.
