According to the website's description, the pencil test videos depict the title thief character's signature Fiat car as it jumps off a bridge to escape a fusillade of bullets. The website also posted a new 60-second promotional video on its front page last week. (In the linked page, select the top-right icon labelled "3/10 60秒ver UP!") The project promises to deal with the decades-long debate among fans by pitting Lupin against himself: one Lupin wearing the green jacket of the first television series, and one Lupin wearing the red jacket of the second series.
    WOW.

    Yes please.

Whoops. I guess I missed the sub-forum. Hell, Lupin's big enough to sit here, anyway. Move if you really want to, though.

  2. Surprise twist: The third series' pink jacket Lupin was the puppetmaster behind the whole thing and defeats them both.

    I'm rooting for Red, incidentally.

  3. Green jacket FTW. He had the best movie.

Also: The Hell? How is this controversial enough to make a movie out of it?

  4. Here's an extended trailer for Green vs. Red - http://www.sendspace.com/file/lf1j8w

This is the most anticipated Lupin-related thing in years for me - it'll be interesting to see just how they pit the two incarnations of Lupin against each other, and if they throw in any old vs. new battles in there (like old Fujiko vs. new Fujiko). I'm pleasantly surprised to see so much interest in this release here.

  5. Old Fujiko was more... built, yes?

  6. Well, that aspect of her seems to vary depending on the show/special. I was mainly referring to a version of her series 1-specific character facing off with her series 2-and later one. Oh, and there's going to be a redone version of "Treasure of the Flame" played at the end of this OVA.

The names of two of the OVA's characters "Yasuo" and "Kukiko" are also the names of the voice actors for Lupin and Fujiko respectively during the first series, the Kukiko character is also a TV reporter, leading to some speculation that the old-school reincarnations will face off against their newer ones in an alternate universe.

Here's a shot of the DVD cover.

  7. This is amazingly hot. I want the poster/cover for my wallpaper.

  8. Yes, old Fujiko was more built. I wouldn't mind seeing Green team VS Red team. I like Red, but there isn't enough Green imo.

  9. A review for Green vs. Red is here - http://www.lupinencyclopedia.com/blo...rd_green_v.php

Fan response to it is fairly high so far. It's being praised for its high production values, and it's viewed as a huge step forward for the stagnant franchise.
