Thread: The Official MLB Season Thread (Opening in Japan at 6:00 a.m.)

  1. jeff's awesome but i don't get the hamilton hate, he's a great story and an incredible hitter

way too many blue jays posts guys

  2. I think everyone can agree that being constantly barraged with the "comeback story" is getting old, and for some, maybe even irritating.

I mean, the announcers pretty much sucked this guy's cock for 30 minutes during his first round performance, not by talking about what a fine piece of power hitting we were watching, but how "miraculous" and "inspiring" it was coming from a reformed heroin/cocaine addict who gave his life to Jesus, had a dream about being here on this very stage, etc.

I think I speak for most baseball fans (casual or hardcore) when I say that I'd rather hear them talk about his performance on the baseball field than his turnaround off the field for the 40-billionth time.

  3. Well said.

  4. It's a better story then the typical
"Hey Joe, did they have steroids when you played?"

"No Jim, when I played we ate tree bark and shit out bats and in between saving kids from fires and working 10 jobs, we played baseball"

"And you played it well Joe"

"Thanks Jim, one thing I want the viewers to remember is that once upon a time I mattered"

You won't hear about him next year. And I will be surprised if he even shows up the second half of the season.
First, I thought the guy had a bad coke addiction, not heroin, at least that's what I recall from the HBO Real Sports segment a few years ago.

Secondly, I know a lot of good people who have fallen into drugs. Some have recovered and some didn't. It takes a real man to overcome that shit, not to avoid it. It just takes intelligence and foresight to avoid it, a bit of sheltering, and luck. It's hard to judge someone who was able to overcome this - so far. It's a daily battle.

Thirdly, the man took how many years off and came back to tear up MLB pitching? His nickname should be The Natural.

Fourthly, the Cubs claimed him and then traded him to the Reds. Mothersonofabitch.

  6. wait so you guys are saying espn stalwarts berman and morgan did a shit job commentating?
