Have faith in Cito my friend.
I lost my faith a few months back.
That was pre-Cito. Have faith in Cito!
You make some good points here. I also doubt Blake will be the long term solution for the Dodgers at 3rd but he should be a nice patch until the end of the season. I'm hoping that he will at least equal the production that Garciaparra would give the Dodgers if he was ever healthy (.280 20 HR 80 RBI for the season).
I thought Dewitt had amazing defense over at 3rd, and he is definitely going to be a major leaguer some day. He did show that he was able to hit major league pitching but the pitchers made some adjustments on him that he wasn't able to adjust to yet. I have a feeling the Dodgers will end up playing 3rd or 2nd for the Dodgers in the next year or two.
I haven't heard anything about Tony Abreu since the season began. So, I guess he is still hurt.
I hope you're right. I grew to like DeWitt. Blake will be OK for now though.
Teixeira's going to the Angels, for Kotchman and a minor league pitcher. As an Angels fan, I'm torn about this, as I like Kotchman a lot. He's got a fantastic glove, and became a very dangerous hitter this year. I'd also think the Angels will be able to afford Tex next year, or at least make a serious offer; I don't think they'd trade Kotchman for a two-month rental.
In the meantime, however, the Angels just got a lot more dangerous, and I think it makes them a serious threat to win it all. The Dodgers could learn from this kind of deal-making.
