Thread: Stereotype Gamers

  1. I don't think it's just gaming where I follow this, but my stereotype would be "Contrary for no reason." Genesis instead of NES, 3DO over SNES/Genesis, PC when all my friends were playing console games, DC when everyone was about PSX/N64, Xbox instead of PS2, PS3 instead of 360, Mac instead of PC back in 99...

    Kinda strange actually.

    Gaming Gurus

    This member, often held in very high regard is above the day to day strife of the message board. Zooming in once or twice a week to post information on games that is so obscure that even the fucking designers had to research twice to confirm. Not one to be trolled, these epic posters are defended by a throng of nerd groupies so deep that the very vagina of mother earth quivers at their presence. Despite normally avoiding getting in the fray, Guru's unintentionally can cause a complete board shutdown if someone personally attacks them. Thier collections usually have very rare relics that uber geeks would kill their own mother to buy. For example: The body of the dead child that smuggled tetris into america, An actual picture of the real Mario, and a copy of Radiant Silvergun unopened. Enjoy their perspective on gaming and be careful to avoid any encounters that are not on the up and up. You have been warned.

  5. The list needs the "Old-head" stereotype. That would be my kind.

    This gamer thinks gaming died in 1995 when Sony thrust the Playstation into our living rooms. He curses Sony for actively killing 2D and bringing video games to "the masses". The old-head will not buy any system less than 10 years old because "Why would I pay $600 for a system that isn't as good as my SNES?" The old-head will then promptly head over to Ebay to buy $300 Neo Geo games.

    Pack rat gamers, too, who just add to their pile of shame with each purchase because one day, just maybe some natural disaster will keep them shut in for three weeks where all they can do is eat, masturbate, and finish those video games.
