Thread: Models from architecture design studio

  1. Good stuff man. Nice to see another architecture student around. What year are you at UF? I'm finishing up my junior year in arc at the college of design at NC State. Should be doing studio work right now, actually.

I'm a sophmore. I'm not sure if you have something similar, but I have pin-up at the end of this semester. It's basically the rite of passage into upper-division. We have about 115 students in D4, and at least 25-30 from other schools applying... there are 92 slots for D5-8.

Do you guys have a 4- or 5-year undergrad program? Ours is 4.

The urban areas are real touristy, and the whole place is humid as hell. I prefer the mountainous areas of Georgia.

Well, visiting it as a tourist, I was satisfied.

  5. I enjoyed living there for four years.

I did bug the hell out and go to the mountains every couple of months, though.

  6. Nice work on those form studies. I'm an architect in Austin trying to make use of all the crap from school in the real world. I can remember doing the exact same cube project as well. At the time I'm pretty sure I complained that I wanted to be focusing on real building design, but looking back all of those early studies are incredibly valuable. Keep up the good work and enjoy the total freedom of design in the first few years of school, because it just gets harder and harder and more disheartening the further you get.

Thanks for the heads up. You know, if you ever need an intern...

  8. The first two projects make zero sense to me, but look awesome.

The rest is just awesome, though.

Thanks for the compliments. Believe me, we didn't really know what they were when we made them, either. They make a bit more sense now, though.

I just did a 30 pound plaster pour for my ground plane for this project. Let's hope it turns out... the final is due in 2 days, lol.
