Not a bad start at all.
People have made some good comments, so I'll just outline a few thoughts I have bullet point stylee:
-I'd suggest getting rid of all the drop shadows and blurry borders you have. It makes everything look fuzzy and washed out.
-Stick with photoshop, everything you can do in those "comic programs" you can do in photoshop, and better, after you take a bit more time to learn the program.
-Practice constantly with your tablet, find online tutorials and do them.
-Practice even more with the tablet.
-Keep practicing with your tablet.
All just my opinion of course!

I just got my tablet and definitely need practice.
I'm a few days in with my new tablet, and I'm absolutely loving it.
As I've been practicing, I keep toying with the idea of a just-for-fun webcomic. My first post here was my first attempt, and clearly, I was in over my head. But I'm ready for another go at it.
I was originally going to expand on the mini-comic I did originally, called The Intern, a take of sorts of my time as an intern at a radio station, but so much crazy shit seems to happen to me on a regular basis, that I felt it would be worthwhile to base it on my life as a whole.
I've also decided to change the art style, now that I'm getting more comfortable drawing with my Wacom. My new style was obviously inspired by Penny Arcade. Much of my crit on my first attempt centered on streamlining, so I love the idea of only having 3 or 4 panels to work with.
Again, I'd love to hear any crit on how I can get better.

Looks like you and the Wacom are getting along just fine.
This completely reminds me of Kidnemo, but that's not a bad thing. Dude does his thing day in and day out, and you seem to be going along the same kinda path he's on. (at least I think he bases most of his shit off whats going on in his world).
I like the style of what you're doing, keep it up.
That dog is far too Family Guy-ish for my taste...
