John Woo to announce Metroid movie?

"The guys over at Gamereactor claim that John Woo will announce a Metroid flick at NY Comic Con this weekend. They go on to claim that they have footage of the trailer shot with a camera phone (top pic), but they’re waiting for a higher-quality vid to throw on the site. From the pic, it looks like the movie’s goinna’ be CG, but who knows.
As shady as it seems for them to claim they have a video, but not actually show it, the idea isn’t that far fetched. John Woo actually purchased the rights to a Metroid film back in ‘04, so for now I guess we’ll just have to wait until next weekend to find out.
Zentendo also has what appears to be a poster for the movie. Kinda’ odd that they wouldn’t take a pic of the whole thing."

I hope it's true, if only for the prospect of merchandise coinciding with it. It chaps my hide that the only Metroid action figure ever produced was that horrific Joyride abomination.
