this is dumb. The nicer the restaurant the grander the illusion. I'm still going to sit down, pick something, eat it, pay for it, go home and shit it out.

    also, what Biff said.

  2. I understand that your are a pretentious douchebag acting as if you're the next iron chef. You know what, he wants to cook my food, I'll eat it as is. You do not create, you follow a fucking recipe just like your counterparts all over the US. You're not a special lamb.

  3. Oh for fuck sake, I make no illusions about being some super chef. I'm not.

The bottom line is: You don't understand food. There's nothing pretentious about it. It's a fault of yours and that's ok. It's just something you need to work on.
    Boo, Hiss.

Eating at a good restaurant is like watching a broadway show. A person is displaying his talent. If you wouldn't try to change the actor's lines, don't try to change the chef's recipe.

  5. LOL, it's my fault that I don't agree with you, that's about it.

  6. It's really immature. It gives the illusion of walking into the kitchen and being like "cilantro? get the fuck out of here bucko, let me show you how to make this."

I don't like cilantro, but if something has cilantro in it I will do one of two things: not order the dish, or roll the dice and hope for the best.

  7. does it not make sense that if you're going to a nice restaurant, it's in your best interests to let the chef decide what goes into your dish? Isn't that why you're there, to eat their food?

  8. Then you don't understand your buying power and deserve to eat the shit.

Don't get me wrong, i don't change recipes, but I would without any thought if I felt the need.

I'm usually there for the wine and the socializing, I mean food is great but it's not what brings me out.

Get over this "You couldn't do my job" bullshit. You are a fucking cook. Take a year worth of class and anyone with a reasonable intelligence and a good attitude can do what you do. You aren't some world renown chef with several restaurants. Hell, I respect any immigrant who risk their own $$ opening their own restaurants (even if it is shitty) than your oh so fucking amazing cooking skills.
