No way man, Vice City had an awesome story.
Amazing. This game simply blows away San Andreas.
Great. It's a significant step up from last gen.
Good. It's GTA with a high-tech paint job.
Not bad, but after Saint's Row I expected more.
Meh.
I'll give it a 9/10 as I wish there were some more things implemented and yeah there's a bit of texture pop up every now and again, but by the by this is the best GTA and what I envisioned 9 years ago when I was playing the original on the computer. At the time MP wasn't even a consideration, but finally having it makes the game that much better since every mode I've tried has been nothing but nonstop fun. And the missions are freaking awesome, first time in a GTA game where I actually cared to progress through the story.
No way man, Vice City had an awesome story.
It did nothing for me. I was bored of it within 10 missions.
VC was boring. The city was dull, flat, and not much fun to explore. I liked Tommy Vercetti, but Lance's transformation into whiny bitch just didn't work.
James
VC is essentially every organized crime movie jammed into 1 story. Some of the Characters are basically ripped straight from movies, like your lawyer friend, who is basically the lawyer from Carlito's Way. Was still cool though.
GTA IV is a great improvement overall. The general gameplay mechanics are largely the same, but hey, its a sequel. People complaining about the cars are either retarded or exagerating, The handling is not all different from the previous games, just slightly tweeked so that a compact drives like a compact and a muscle car drives like a muscle car.
The addition of multiplayer is reason enough for this to be yards better than its predecessors. It reminds me of playing GTA1 over LAN back in the day.
Basically, if you don't like GTA this will not change your mind, as it is afterall a GTA game. The world is much more immersive and the characters are more fleshed out, which combined with multiplayer make this game a fantastic buy for any fans of the series.
People get caught up in the cool of GTA and forget that as a game it's almost entirely a failure in every way. Every aspect of the game is halfass from the driving to the controls to the gun play to the camera. I enjoy GTA but am under no illusion that they're great games.
San Andreas was much better by the way.
Boo, Hiss.
A game is about enjoyment and people enjoy fucking around in GTA games a great deal.
dude you are crazy there is no way that GTA:SA is better, that whole "thug nasty, gangsta wiky scratch yo-yo bang bang" thing was old and lame after about 15 minutes. Just another jab at negative stereotypes. That shit is so annoying (IMO)
or maybe its just me, i just thought that "SA" was a total waste of time.
I love the online play in this new one, i just got done playing it a few minutes ago and i wouldnt have stopped if i didnt have to go to work in the AM
