I love GTA 4, but I did expect more in terms of gameplay after playing Saints Row.

Basically, if you don't like GTA this will not change your mind, as it is afterall a GTA game. The world is much more immersive and the characters are more fleshed out, which combined with multiplayer make this game a fantastic buy for any fans of the series.

Yep, this is on point here. I thought the former would happen but was playing myself. I can't hate on the game for doing what it's always done better.

They both had Live accounts but only one 360. I think they've both got their own 360s now though.

This is the first GTA game I've played, and I'm about 6 hours into it right now.

Some of the random things, like getting drunk and then going for a drive, are really fun to mess around with. However, the storyline doesn't seem to be going anywhere and I don't feel like I'm progressing in the game. All I've done so far is drive here, kill some dude/steal some shit, drive back, rinse and repeat for 6 hours. Do the missions ever become more varied? If its just 20 more hours of this, I'm not sure if I'll keep the game

I agree with what everyone else says too, there are a variety of gameplay elements but none of them are executed very well. I didn't mind that the driving was slightly realistic, at first, but it becomes very tedious when I have to restart missions. In short, the driving just isn't as fun as it should be. Hand to hand combat is absolutely useless, so I use guns most of the time, but even targeting with guns can be a pain in the ass.

Again, as this is my first GTA game, I'm not sure how much longer this game is supposed to be. I can say though, that I'm already over the novelty of running around the game's world just to do stupid shit and the main story line isn't doing anything for me; basically I'm bored of what the game has to offer already.

So far, I'd give this a 6/10. The open ended nature of the game is as brilliant as it should be, but everything you do in the world just seems tedious. I don't normally play these open ended "criminal sand box" games, but so far the only one I've liked is "True Crime: Streets of L.A."....and I know that game isn't even that good. LOL.

True Crime was awesome until you had to fight the underground fake Big Trouble in Little Tokyo boss, which lead to the final boss, who was terrible too.
