  2. That's why it's lol-worthy. It's an online game whose publisher staunchly refuses to take it to a platform that can do online properly. It's a succinct commentary on the utter cluelessness of the Japanese gaming industry.

    So true.

WWII Shooter 967, FPS 3,208, Generic RTS 1,092 and Crap Sports Game 15,401 are far more interesting and original.

  5. I deleted it because there's no point arguing with PBMax.

Wait, so because there are multiple games in a genre that means anything? Yeah that makes sense.

Generic RTS? What? What Generic RTSes are you talking about, most RTSes have some very stark differences from any others.

But yeah, craps sports games are solely manufactured by one company not all of western gaming, and it's the company that's honestly the most like Japan.

yeah those are some great points of ignorance you bring up as usual.

I probably won't respond to your counter post unless you put out some actual facts or something because we all know your head is so far up Nintendo's ass that reality has become altered.

i was in the beta for the PS2 version and found it very boring. it seemed like PSO on a basic level except collecting dead enemies was the point.

  8. There hasn't be a game developed in the last three years that is better than Monster Hunter Freedom 2, sorry!

  9. To be fair, PBMax does have a point. Western PS3/360 developers have a hell of a time getting a big budget project greenlighted now unless it's an FPS, or close enough to it that they go after the same audience (Gearslikes, etc.). Publishers just won't take the risk.

Seriously, look at every major western game with a large development and advertising budget released like the last two years for those two systems, and the ones for this Christmas - the percentage is pretty high. Even the rpgs are going down this road, like Mass Effect & Fallout 3. And you can't really blame the publishers, they're just providing what customers want.

The only real successful exceptions have been Guitar Hero/Rock Band & Assassin's Creed. When I saw the trailer for Mirror's Edge and the gorgeous jumping scenes gave way to bullet-time FPSing, I knew that was what the devs had to shoehorn in to get concept approval from EA. More than one developer has bitched about this.

Of course, other games are still being made, but the tentpoles are almost all shooters.
