Leaving Things on God

How does TNL faithful do this? What is your process.

Oh, and in before some self-important prick feels the need to tell everyone why they don't believe.

EDIT: Some people ask for me to elaborate. The situation is not one that you can do anything about. Or it is a situation that you've already tried everything. Like say you've sent off paper work for a grant and you really need it but there is nothing you can personally do anymore. Or say you are having trouble with a family member and you've already talked and said everything humanly possible to patch things up.

So I guess what I'm asking is how do you leave something on God when that is really the only possible thing to do anymore.

I believe that its leaving alone things that you cant mess with. Dealing with unstoppable entities in life is what God is for. This doesnt mean that God is there to bail you out of everything; even death and tragedy. It seems harsh, but its a kind of trust that says "The Almighty probably let something twice as bad let pass; and thinks me tough enough to get through this".

See I think thats the most common misconception about believing in God. God is not your personal Infinity Gauntlet to grant wishes.

I always thought it was pretty disrespectful to god to rely on him for anything, if god is going to help you he's going to help you, just relying on him is weakness.

Coincidentally I hate whenever someone accomplishes something and it's because god helped you.

How does TNL faithful do this? What is your process.

Felt like kicking the hornet's nest this morning did we?

My general take on it is, asking God to take something stressful off of my mind through prayer generally works. I understand the general psychology of it, and that it can be explained as self-induced displacement or some such, but fact is, it works for me. It doesn't hurt a thing to call it faith.
