Well that's just fucking wonderful that you don't care about HW driving conditions, I guess since you don't no one else in the entire country should either. For most people in the country HW driving is a part of their life. Specially in a state like NJ, which happens to be the most densely populated state in the country. That's wonderful you can take your leisurely time everywhere you go, do you have a job?

Your view point is part of the problem. We've went far too long wanting vehicles that we can use in all occasions and places. Thats why we have stupid white mothers in SUVs. They want a huge vehicles to put groceries in, protect the kids and get up to those HW speeds you've described in a timely manner. AND for some reason go off road. And yet they are amazed when after doing all of that, the beast drinks gas like your mother on pay day.

This needs to change. People need to own different kinds of vehicles and we need legislation to reflect this. We need to have these cars and make them legal to drive in certain areas, like cities, small towns and roads with speed limits under 65.

maybe these can't be used on HWs. But can you imagine what it would do for gas prices if even a small percentage of drivers switched over to something like this for a daily driver?

Maybe this car is not the solution or even an option, but the way we view cars has to change. We are going to have to stop looking for A solution and instead look for solutions.

oh, I think it could be enforced. Its just that no one wants to deal with the back lash from the public if there was an increase in fines and tickets. If enough people die, however, that would change.

Have you ever driven in NJ?

If not then you need to shut the fuck up. We're a corridor state and Route 80 is pretty much 80 - 90% 16 Wheelers, so unless you never want to pull onto the highway, then you're going to be pulling onto it in front of a 16 wheeler fairly often. Highway speed in NJ is not 60mph, most people in the "slow" lane are doing 70 - 75. Pulling onto 80 means getting up to highway speed pretty fucking quickly unless you like causing accidents.

That's the same problem with most electric motor cars, they have no power. I don't think electrics, low power, or hybrids are the answer. I think it's going to have to be another fuel source like say methane or something else.

The tech is there now, it's just crazy expensive (the Tesla starts at $100k). They've developed it enough where the power train is faster and more efficient at delivering power than most combustion based systems. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, weights just under 3000 pounds iirc.
