Ok, Last night, after long installation and bunch of patch updates, I was finally able to spend couple of hours with the game. And so far I liked what was there. Hell no, not perfect, but decent enough.

Me and dj had some great time messing around with the barbarian he made. Arnold look alike, named Titann (go figure, with dj its either Titann or Commie variations lol), dressed in loin cloth and armed with big piece of wood, wrecking everything on his was in the jungle near Tortage.

I went with road easier to me and fof beginning made an assassin, Despaird. No NE badass this time though, just sexy stygian dagger chick. Works for now.

On high setting games is pretty, but it is taxing my older system

so things go bit laggy. I am diggin the art style so far. Its different from more high fantasy, cartoony style of WOW. Blood and gore is a decent visual gimmick. When you do strong hits, and soon fatalities, blood splatters the screen which is pretty cool.

I guess the begging it one semi-long instance tutorial with few small time bosses, nothing too hard at all, but what allows to tryout the game play.

Enemies range from oh cool and nice animation, to WTF was that gimpy fucking thing. With higher settings things work better.

Interface needs serious work though. I hope they either mode it, or there will be better add-ons to fix some of the shitty layout. But even with flaws, it workable.

Combat is FUN. Multiple way attacking and shielding, watching enemies react to the way you attack, adds to the game play, and also actually affects the damage you do. Dodging, jumping and strafing also quite important. I was so happy to see JUMP actually being there. In all of the game videos, I never seen character jump, and I was afraid it was akin to Guild Wars.

Stealthing around was much fun, and brought great memories from my WOW rogue.

I didn't had much time, plus the curse of early days WOW struck AOC as well. The dreaded SERVER DOWN situation. But it came back shortly, and I was able to get my assassinating ass into Tortage and start working some quests. Here game feels more of Oblivion then WOW, but I am sure, its get more group oriented later on.

Looking forward more playtime tonight. Got to get past that level 6

Funny you said it feels more like Oblivion than WoW, I kinda got that impression too.

What server Despair? I've got an Assassin on Tyranny with Sharpe (Necromancer, wtf).
