Yeah, the sequel is announced. Some details and a handful of screens, but not a lot concrete known just yet.

I got this back around summer or so when I found the PS3 version at Tatget for $15 new, and always meant to get to it but never did. Then, recently, I've been wanting something to play, but everything I put in just didn't grab my attention.

Finally tried Dead Space, and good lord am I loving it. It's just... so, so good. The gameplay is totally fun, the environments are really well crafted and make you truly feel like you're inside this huge space ship, and I love that the developers understood that "scary" doesn't just mean making the entire game dark so that you can't see shit. (Which far too many games seem to think.) In some ways, the game takes me back to the more enjoyable days of Silent Hill, which may be why I'm loving it asuch as I am.

Its funny that I'm finally playing it as the sequel is really being shown off, and so fat, I'm a little worried about what I've been hearing.

I fully expect there to be a garbage multiplayer mode and stupid retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses.

No, just the talk (I think) I've read about them saying the first game was too hard and too scary.

Ew. The spastic orchestra tornado whenever anything happened kept the game from being very scary. I mostly liked it for the rad combat and almost-System-Shock-3 art design.
