Thread: I Have Been Playing WoW and I Hate Myself

  1. Haha, they just forgot to put a rage timer on a boss? ...
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

  2. I feel so bad for people getting into this game now, who didn't get to see it between Orignal Build and BC expansion.

I'm sure this still fun shit to do though.

No. The devs supposedly took 15 hours and they're the one who made the fucking encounter. 2 years go by and no one can figure out the right way to down a boss? Then it's time to give the userbase a hint on how-to because you made the right way too obscure.

They may have been doing PW wrong, but this is different from a WoW nerf. Most WoW nerfs comes to make a fight doable by a wider percentage of the userbase after it has been downed by the elite guilds. Here, no one even the best can drop the boss. As you said, an enrage timer or even a one shotting attack to say 'You can't kill this' would be a courtesy to the userbase. Even Doomwalker from WoW, with its 8k 100m earthquake, had that and in the end he is very doable with a competent guild as a way to do him became clear.

Gonna grind BGs to get some gear. Than work on Frozen Shadowweave.

Woolf and Solanas. I quit the guild. Pretty much was told: we're not taking you on raids because you're not t4/5. We're not doing t4 and we're not taking you on t5. So the only paths left were heroic epics which wouldn't gear me up for t5 anyway, and i'm already kara ready by all guides i've read, PVP which takes forever and still isn't as good as t4/5 (unless i get brutal but that's two levels of grind there, no one wants an undergeared pvp rogue in arena) and badge gear, which takes forever to get the 460 badges I'd need without raiding. I might rejoin once I'm in t4 gear.

Anyone who's considering joining SH/rampant fronting should take note that unless you're already doing bear runs/the eye, or S3/4 arena (geared as such) you won't be doing anything with the guild on a regular basis.

Gah I wish i knew about that triple experience thing earlier. I would had my g/f roll now instead of back in november.

  6. Mars, I think you're just kind of unlucky; you came in as Mzo was kind of leaving; and that cut down the activity of the guild by quite a lot. But coming from someone who left just before they started really tearing through late t4 and t5; you could "catch up" by working hard in heroics for badge loot and doing lots of PUGs; most PUGs will take Heroic-ly geared people and work pretty well. Your class choice doesn't help.

It's very hard to slot new people into a functioning (or barely functioning guild).

I barely play nowadays because of my internet connection, but add "Eadgils", "Haruspex" and "Froya" to your friends list, I'll happily help you out with stuff (I generally have fuck all to do when I log on anyway).

  7. Mechdeus went from the from horribly undergeared to tier 6 content off-tank in a matter of something like two to three months and now receives raid invites on the regular.

You just can't expect to get a raid spot, especially a tier 6 raid or a bear-run, right after hitting 70.

Well thats the problem more or less. We've stopped doing kara/gruuls the last few weeks since the healer is out and no one else wants to bother since everyone else's mains would only gain shards and badges, not upgrades. Right now I'm sporting heroic epics in half my slots, looking to buy a few epic pve rogue items (vengence wrap, and chest) and I'm halfway to the 100 badge leggings. The fundamental problem is that'll put me STILL in the ready for kara/gruul's group and not in the t5 running group. There's a big gap there. To t5 ready just pugging shitty groups that fail half the time I'd need a full QD badge armor set, which ain't happening without me killing myself due to retards.

So I joined a guild that has both kara and gruuls on the schedule and runs heroics daily (without wiping/disbanding random) to speed things the fuck up.

Pretty much what happened to me. I think we did one Gruul run and one SSC run with me, otherwise I just run Kara whenever possible. I still have yet to get a single piece of tank loot from anything past Kara.

I earned two pieces of PVP gear from BGs in one weekend and most of those pieces are big upgrades for you, plus it looks like you finally got an arena team for some extra points so that's another bonus piece of gear for you. Use one of those two ways to grab some legs and the other the chest, that will help a ton. Then fill in the rest as needed. I end up DPSing in the many fights no OT is needed and aside from my weapons, gloves, and ranged weapon I've had to get most all my Fury/MS gear outside of RF raiding.

You're one batch of dailies away from getting a new SSO neck (and you're Scyers which is so much cheaper to power to exalted), enchant your weapons (if you need some mats ask, I probably have some extras to give you), the Shard which is arguably the best rogue trinket in the game is from heroics, etc. There's still a lot you can do pre-raiding and a bunch of us are willing to help either for the heck of it or for alts. Trialsword and I still need the Shard as well so there's two people that will be running H MgT when they can.

Well that works too. Badges are great when you can get them (still 10 away from my legs).

  10. Well none of that is a mistake I've been driving pretty hard to get geared. My swords are okay (blinkstrike is ~s1 sword level), my offhand is from the sole time I was allowed on a failed ZA run, the SSO necklace is the best dps outside of sunwell/BT and everything else is coming along. Leggings are the best non-raid leggings I can get till badge gear, which describes pretty much everything I have atm.
