Thread: I Have Been Playing WoW and I Hate Myself

  1. Its really not anyones fault, this shit has happened to a lot of guilds in this game. Endgame just doesn't have a concise Point A to Point B slow burn path anymore and as a result, people just stop attending raids when they either get A) hard, or B) unfruitful for themselves.

25 man raiding for the all convenience it brought to the raiding situation (they used to be 40 for those that don't know), really screwed up the ability for guilds to over stock players and have steady alternates to run whatever instances were necessary for overall guild progression.

I have had an urge to play again recently, but I look at what I used to love to do (Leading Raids) and I feel nothing but pure apathy about it.

Also the gearing up system is just so bizarre now with the Arena gear.

  2. I'm thinking about selling my account. I have 2 x 70's on Alliance PVP servers. Resto Druid and SL/SL Warlock, with about 2k gold between them. Their gear sucks (druid has a nice tanking set, however). I'd be willing to offload it for a pretty decent price to anyone here if they want them. Also comes with a PVE 60 Tauren Hunter, 49 UD Mage, a deadly 19 UD Warrior twink, and lots of other mid level alts.

Check armory for Calako (on Barthilas) and Cakkalo (on Barthilas). Twink is Slopp (on Proudmoore).

    Woop woop.

Oh I'm not saying you haven't been trying, everytime I've looked at your gear it's been obvious about the effort you've put in trying to upgrade. I was just listing various things pre-raid that could help you get past that under T5 issue. I read that as though you were blowing off things like the starter epic PVP gear despite that while it may not be the leap you wanted it's still an upgrade over some of your pieces, and it's easy to get one or two. Getting more is also easy, but it takes a lot of time and can get tedious.

  4. I just can't get into the post 70 grind.

I'm playing my mage again (char name: cii - shattered hand) and he's at 61.

I really blew past all of the instances with my hunter just trying to get to 70, so with my mage I'm more taking my time and trying to see all of the different instances.

I just don't have the treadmill mentality I guess.

  5. Well pvp is fun, and i love it but it requires a certain level of gear to really pull it off well. Entry level is about ~200 resil, plus s2 weapons. That's a pretty high break point on entry level. Having heroic gear helps alot, helps get some resil gear and badges never hurt as well as raising rep (CE/Aldor/Scryer/LC/SSO) help advance a charecter quickly through cash, badges and the odd top end item.

Honestly the fastest way to gear is to run kara/gruuls and do an arena team once you've advanced beyond heroics for gear. So a daily rountine would go from heroics/raids/dailies to pvp/raids/dailies once running instances becomes a badge only affair.

  6. Just play a couple instances here and there. For at least the early 60s it takes about four instance runs per level (with rested xp, anyway), so if you run like two every few days or so it works pretty well. I found grinding quests in Outland to be pretty boring and not something I really want to do more than once.

[edit] This was directed at Kidnemo.

  7. Pretty much.

I haven't seen any instances past Coilfang Reservoir, so I just want to see new stuff.

  8. If you want neat you really should hit the Keeper of Time instances. Lots of lore there and they're pretty exciting stuff. Also very short.

  9. Yea I wanted to see 'em when I played my hunter, but I got drawn into the "zomg need 70" grind.

    I <3 the WoW lore.

  10. I've been grinding stupid reps and achievements lately.

I got the recipe for Delicious Chocolate Cake and my Amani War Bear on the same day! Don't I rule?
