  2. Yeah you gotta get the sleep HIV first. /20th time joke made in thread

I tend to just stay up drawing lately. I go to bed when it's done. Luckily there's a couch next to the computer/drawing table, so I can basically just fall over instead of crawling back upstairs.

  4. Rub one out, that doesn't work, rub a couple more out! Sleep follows! Assured!

  6. I generally try to get rid of distractions when I sleep, unfortunately nearly everything distracts me when I'm trying to sleep. We have a white noise machine for when we sleep but I don't think it helps all that much (but I don't think it hurts either). I feel like I sleep best from early-late morning but that's probably because of my work schedule and inconsistent sleeping habits. Even when I'm very tired, if I go to bed early (for me, that's anywhere from 10pm-12:30am) I'll wake frequently. Any particular ambient noise (like the fire department siren or loud passing cars) will trigger this thing where I can't stop hearing the sounds for the rest of the night. The most frustrating thing is when I hit that first level of sleep (where your brain and thoughts get all dreamy but you're not really sleeping) and something brings me out of it, it's usually another hour or two before I even start feeling tired again.

Oddly enough, alcohol induced sleep is usually the best for me and I don't feel tired the next day. I don't drink anywhere near as much as I used to but the only time I look forward to trying to go to sleep is when I'm drunk. Sleep aids work sometimes (like benadryl, NyQuil, Tylenol/Advil PM, generic over-the-counter sleep aids) but more often then not, I feel like they stay active in my system for way too long and will leave me feeling groggy until the afternoon. Even when I get a good amount of sleep and have to wake up somewhat early, I'll usually have a spell during the day where I feel unnaturally tired only to be followed by super energetic, hyper wakefulness.

I think my internal clock is just whacked out. I can fall asleep in the middle of the day sometimes when I'm not tired and I always used to fall asleep in school. I should probably exercise more and try to get on a better sleep pattern but it's hard when I get in from work well after midnight sometimes. I'm starting full-time school in the Summer to go along with my full-time job and will probably be mad busy all the time and that should help a good bit too.

You can't have it both ways.

  9. Hahaha. I don't sleep well anymore when I drink. I usually wake up after 4 hours and can't go back to sleep.
