Returned games screw jobs!

I want to hear some stories from people that work in retail about being screwed over with returns.

Once at my store somebody returned a copy of Goldeneye opened. The idiot service area person took it back even though it was opened and didnt check out whats inside. Well when someone checked there was some metal plates taped together instead of the game! Hilarious! I'm one of the 2 or 3 people in the store that send the returned stuff back to the warehouse. We're not the ones that actually do the customer return so we notice all the stupid crap the service people return. Return a game with no game in the case? Sure! Wanna stuff your old crappy PS1 into a new PS1 box and return it for full credit? SURE! Wanna return a game cd that is scratched to shit and say it doesnt work? SURE! Stupid ass moron service area people. I've seen so much stupid shit, I wanna hear some more stories so post away.

I took back a broken PSX that was obviously switched out cause the serieal number was taped on. I took it back cause the guy was a dick and I was sick of him, and I would have paid the 50 bones to get rid of him so, whatever.

Well, this isn't actually a game, but its amazing how incompetent the people working the Best Buy returns counter are.

One time someone returned a phone in which the box seemed especially heavy. But the woman working the return didn't even bother to check out the contents, so she processed the return and gave the customer a cash refund since thats how they originally payed for it. Later, as it was being loaded into a cart with a bunch of other stuff to be returned in that same section, the box fell off the cart, opened up, and tons of little rocks fell out of it. Thats right, the damn thing was filled with PEBBLES and weighed probably 2 or 3 times as much as it should have, but the idiot customer service rep never bothered to check it!

Hey, at Sears, we have to return things even if someone wiped their ass with them, if it's withing 30 days of the receipt. It's suuuuch crap. And even after 30 days (see myh retail horror story in another thread) we give it to 'em anyway.

SamuraiMoogle, where do you work? I don't have any personal stories myself, but I heard that Walmart will take almost any return. If that's true, I wonder if I can return my PS2 for a working PS2 or a X-Box.

Walmart here sucks for returns. I tried to return a PC game that wouldnt work right and they basically told me to fuck off. I just flushed $50 down the shitter on the game. Bastards. Its not like you can rent PC games.


SamuraiMoogle and I both work at Toys R Us. Well we got laid off for 3 months while the remodel. Back to work next week though.
The store has a new name and shit too. A new Toys R Us prototype. Its called Geoffrey... you know like the dumbass mascot giraff.

check this out. my friend stole 30 ps2 memory cards from some truck, went to walmart, and told them he bought all 30 memory cards but lost the receipt, and that he wanted to get a refund for all of them. guess what? they took it all back and gave him every penny those memory cards were worth. he walked out of there with around $900. i'm serious.

...this one is pretty funny...remember when the 3DO was like, $799? well one of my buddies worked at the best buy here and told me this story...two younger guys bought a 3do system and must have went home removed the unit from the box, fill the box with old magazines, and returned it to best buy for a full refund, the service person didn't check and the dudes got away with a FREE 3do...OH WAIT...i forgot to mention that the IDIOTS filled the box with magazine they subscribed to and they didn't take the address labels off!...well, the cops knew right where to find 'em...:jest:
