Call of Duty: World at War

As much as I grew to hate COD 4, I am actually thinking about giving this one a shot now that the disappointment of Gears 2 is starting to sink in.

For those who played COD 2 multiplayer (which was my favorite in the series), how would you say this game compares?

I always liked COD 2 because it had a slower pace to it and the weapons had crazy recoil that kept people from being able to run around and Rambo people without even bothering to aim.

This is CoD4+1/2.
It's plays very much like CoD4.
The guns are slightly more balanced than 4. I honestly feel as though they have more recoil too, but I haven't played 4 in a while and when I did I just used the m16.
It's fun, but if you only liked CoD2 then you this one won't satisfy you.

With that said, I'm having so much fun with this game.

Agreed. This game doesn't have a COD2 vibe at all. If you want that, play Day of Defeat.

The Magnum is serious bizness.

The Magnum is serious business in ANY game EVER. It's like the one common thread in all videogames. Magnum = Instakill

But see, you trick them, and you're not really out of ammo, and see you can switch back to your main weapon that has ammo left.

The best thing about World at War is the guns. It makes going up in levels totally worth it. Even once I hit level 55 in COD4, I'd still use the m16 with red dot site.

The flamethrower rapes close combat. Sometimes there's nothing funner to play with.

My first reply was completely serious and states simply why this isn't much of an effective tactic. I could elaborate but then I'd just get some "SRS BIZ" replies and either way, if it works for you and you have fun doing it then that's really all that matters.
