i liked it as well...the music was pretty amazing. it was more difficult for me to get used to since i'd played the bn series so much. it's really funny the game didn't have a sequel.

also, i hope this is available on some other systems at some point. and by other systems i mean handhelds. but only 'cause the graphics aren't gonna be pushing any system to their limits. i wouldn't mind the game looking like powered up. and speaking of handheld megamen...if this game is being developed by the guys behind the zero and zx series, is the difficulty level gonna be crazy?

  4. Damn, why are those scans so small?

Good find none the less. I hope they don't stick 100% to NES limitations... looks like they might.

  5. I'd love to see the screen scale out to fight some huge Metal Slug-style minibosses with the little Mega Man sprite, but wouldn't mind a straight-up traditional MM game.

That doesn't really make sense, as both Mega Man X and Mega Man X2 look far nicer and came out before Mega Man 7.

When there's a ton of shit on the screen, it's not slowdown. It's bullet time.

  8. I'm hoping that Mega Man 9 will turn out really good AND sell really well. If that happens, then hopefully Konami will catch on and make another classic, linear, 2-D Castlevania game.

It probably won't. Now, I've had a lot of fun playing games that have looked like complete shit. I'm not an eye-candy whore, but most mainstream gamers are, and they want the prettiest games with the most polys and effects and shit. I don't see this appealing to anyone but the hardcore crowd.

I know I've been ragging on MM9, and I'm still annoyed it looks like MM2, but I wouldn't mind seeing it do well. I mean, something 2D has to, right?
