This sure has turned into a whale of a thread.

Missing out on the NES would suck but missing out on the SMS is just as bad, at least with regards to the best games of the era anyway. I think its the 7800-only people that are bitter for life.
But I agree that DOS Megaman is horrid. It may have been filling a void in the IBM PC line up but PCs were the bottom of the barrel for 2d action games in 1990 ranking behind the 8-bit and 16-bit consoles, Commodore, Atari and MSX computers, and the Game Boy.
And I replayed Megaman 2 the other day. Good times.
This sure has turned into a whale of a thread.

This is what I meant. I wasn't talking about the SMS, and I had consoles, but I was still impressed to see the PC starting to do console-style gaming. Of course Commander Keen came out not long after and did it much better, I'm just saying, give the game its due context.
Also, I think it was a free shareware game to promote Mega Man 3 anyway, wasn't it? I know I got it off a shareware rack.
I think I remember playing the PC Mega Man for like one hot second... there was something about a hub level and some robot dog was biting my ass? Hard to remember, saw it once years and years ago and never again.
Kind of want to play.

Commander Keen could eat PC Mega Man for breakfast with a side of Blastola Cola™.
Those of you bitching about Mega Man 7's style need to see this.
The 8-bit looks like a million times better a game, and the music sounds awesomer NES style. Just thought you should know, Melf.
