If this was a retail title, all those DLC modes would have been available either from the start or unlocked after you accomplished some things. You know how I know this? Because Capcom already did it with Mega Man: Powered Up. And they eventually gave Protoman away for FREE in that game too! The DLC is a rip-off that is already programmed and should have been included with the game instead of deliberately being held off as an add-on. Price is not the issue. If you buy the DLC, you're telling Capcom that it's okay to do this, and encourage them to continue doing it in future titles.
It's another glaring example of the Japanese not fully grasping DLC, although it's not as bad as Sega selling you codes to unlock clothing that already existed in the Virtua Fighter 5 disc (and don't get me started with Namco).
