Thread: The Red Thread

    The Red Thread

Inspired by the PC Engine thread, I must say that Red was one of the best developers of the 16-bit era.

I love Bonk, Gate/Lords of Thunder and Legendary Axe 2.

I have yet to play a Tempo or Sakura Taisen game though.

And hopefully GunGrave will turn out good.

What are your thoughts on them?

  2. I think Bonk is cool in its own way, but just nowhere near Sonic or Mario. Air Zonk I like more. Gate of Thunder is an excellent Thunder Force clone, but after being submitted to incessant hype from certain individuals (not here), I couldn't help noticing some flaws. But I still enjoyed it plenty. Lords of Thunder is a pretty cool and unique shooter, but I don't like it as much as Gate of Thunder Force.

I wish I had a chance to play a Sakura Taisen. GunGrave is one game I'm looking forward to, and I think it's cool that Sega acquired them.

  3. Who can guess which game of theirs I want really badly? GunGrave!

I am one of those who still has yet to play a Bonk game, mainly due to my lack of never owning a TG-16. In fact, the only game I've ever played on the TG-16 was one of the Splatterhouses. That and an SMS aer my to-get list one day.

In any case, don't they also have a hand in the new Trigun game?

  4. Trigun game?

  5. Didnt they do Hagane? Great fricken game. Didnt they also have a hand in Thousand Arms? Again, great fricken game. Yup, I dig em.

  6. They're ambitious and original, I'll hand them that. Bonk and Tempo are alright, but Twisted Tales of Spike McFang and Thousand Arms are both so incredibly average. Unfortunate, since they had genuine potential.

  7. Ironically, I am at this very moment finishing a custom CD tray liner for Gate of Thunder. I'm trying to find a free image hosting site so that I can link it here for all to see, but I don't know of any. Baypal went to shit after becoming Ink Frog (measly 60kb max per pic), and now I'm without a host!

I have never heard of them associated with Hagane but it wouldn't surprise me considering it's a great game published by Hudson.

    It's a coincedence. Not irony.

Just like Alanis' song. She doesn't mention a single bit of irony in the whole damned thing! Horrible coincedences, but not irony.
