thanks man, you saved me
amazing, i seriously cant wait“No matter how bad the condition of the material may be, the original intention of the film, including all of its minor characters and subplots, is now once again tangible for the normal viewer. The rhythm of the film has been restored.”
I can't imagine they wouldn't give this, of all movies, a full restoration. Anyone care to explain the limits of digital restoration and why they could clean it up most, but not all, of the way?And perhaps the scratches, which will probably remain even after restoration...

Since no one here has seen the full thing, I don't think we're qualified to say.
I'm excited about this. Metropolis is one of the few silent films that really holds up as not only entertaining, but incredibly visionary. It's an amazing movie, the godfather of the sci-fi genre in film, and I would love to see it in its original glory.
Although, ironically, I don't think I've seen the current most complete version.
I've never seen Metropolis, but I really want to, when this hits I'll most likley just buy it.
