I think we got the shaft on many great games but I think the Terrinigma fist was a little too much. Damn, one of these days I'll get that damn game.
Dragon Quest 6
Final Fantasy 5
Seiken Densetsu 3
Shin Megami Tensei
Star Ocean
Tales of Phantasia
Terranigma
What was the best Super Famicom RPG that we got screwed out of?
I know there are alot of others not n the list, but the forum has a max of 7 options for some reason and all of those 7 are major ones... My apologies for not getting Romancing Saga, Tactics Ogre, Front Mission, Treasure Hunter G, Bahamut Lagoon, Violinist of Hamelin... so many games I had to leave out...![]()

It's hard for me to say, because I've only played Seiken Densetsu 3 and FF5. But I voted for SD3 anyway, because it's one of my favorite games of all time.
I really would've voted for Treasure Hunter G. Ah, well, at least you apologized for it.
For me, its better to jsut pretend I don't know these games exist.
Don't forget about Live a Live.
Not surprisingly my vote's going to Tales of Phantasia. The game was definately a landmark in terms of graphics and sound. Everything about it was quality. The combat system was a totally new take and really kept things interesting. The story was amazing (in particular the characters). The soundtrack outclassed everything before it and arguably everything since. It wasn't perfect, but it just had everything I look for in an RPG. The PSX remake is one of my favorite games.
But there's some stiff competition there, for sure. I wouldn't deny ony of those games.
Well, actually the game I would vote for, the original Albert Odyssey, isn't up there. That was the VERY FIRST import game I ever bought at the reccommendation of E.Storm and Gamefan, first volume, third issue, first I ever bought. Even to today, I still think its the best strategy/RPG made from the 16-bit era...yes, better than the Shining Forces, Ogre Battle, and Tactics Ogre even!
But since its not up there, my vote went to Tales of Phantasia. How the hell did Namco not get off their lazy asses and port this game to either the Super Nintendo OR the Playstation? My God, they gave us BOTH Tales of Destiny AND Tales of Eternia, both of which are good games but inferior to Phantasia IMHO.![]()
omg TNL epics!
This was a hard one for me, I voted for Star Ocean though... another game that we missed out on twice (Super Nintendo and re-released for Playstation)... at least we got the 2nd one though and we better get the 3rd, but we did miss the GBC game
Terranigma was a very, very close second... it still amazes me how close that was to be released in the USA and then to be cancelled, already translated to english and was on the release list as "Creation" before it was pulled
Even though they where Strategy RPG's, I would also like to mention the Fire Emblem series as well, hopefully we will at least get the GBA game... but why was it a no show at E3...
Tales of Phantasia was well ahead of it's time, graphics, music and voice to boot on Super Famicom! It was a shame Namco couldn't give us this game especially since it was re-released on Playstation and they still didn't bring it over here![]()
O those, I haven't played Shin Megami tensei or Star Ocean, so I think my vote goes to Tales of Phantasia. Namco must have kidnapped God and forced him to help program that sucker with them, because that game made the snes sing. Very close second to Seiken Densetsu 3. I am in love with the music in that one.
Violinist of Hamelin is a platformer.I know there are alot of others not n the list, but the forum has a max of 7 options for some reason and all of those 7 are major ones... My apologies for not getting Romancing Saga, Tactics Ogre, Front Mission, Treasure Hunter G, Bahamut Lagoon, Violinist of Hamelin... so many games I had to leave out...
I'll also throw in another nod to Albert Odyssey. I need to find someone that can tell me how to get to the southern continent. >=(
REJOICE is my favorite, but for the best, I'd say Tactics Ogre. but this is me choosing from a list of games I know little about, and I don't seem to have the ability to sit through translated roms on my computer.
on that note. which dumper supports 6mbit cartridges?
