Thread: TNL Bicycles Volume I: Wild And Wacky Action Bike

  1. Well, I registered for the MS Society charity ride! Due to the fundraising requirement being sort of high, my mother and her boyfriend decided to opt out, so I'm going at it alone. The weather is absolutely gooooorgeous today and I'm definitely in the mood for a good long ride.

If anybody wants to donate, you can do it online via credit card (or pay me through paypal indirectly but that's way less convenient). Donate here!

    I'm pretty excited.

  2. I did around 12 Miles yesterday. Weather was simply awesome for it. Started in Vernon again and made it all the way to Andover, CT

Cyclometer coming in this week so I can actually track how far I am getting.

Some pics of the awesome tunnel under the infamous "suicide 6"

The coolest part of these trails are all the sections blown out of the rock, you can feel the huge temprature change as you enter the little canyons.

Not sure what you are talking about.

Did you see all of the skidding and peddling really fast because they didn't have free-wheel in that video?

    Awesome!

  4. i thought the skidding looked amazing fun, especially since i can never free that rear wheel from the sticky pavement.
And i think they'd still be pedaling really fast if they wanted to go fast with a freewheel. They weren't going down huge hills. The secret to fixed gear riding is that you can take your feet off the pedals and slow down with your front brake. I have never had a problem getting my feet back on the pedals.

  6. No Chrome bag? He's probably going home to get his pad of paper before he stops by McDonald's for a free Friday latte

  7. I got my bike rack installed and love the new panniers. Not carrying books on my back while riding makes a big difference in comfort for me. Definitely not used to my bike being so back heavy though, that will take a little while. The panniers are fun since they come off so easily and have a strap to be instant messenger bag.

  8. Panniers are the best. I've carried a 12-pack of Co-cola and a 24-pack of water in them. It's tough carrying the bike, but once you get going, the back being heavy doesn't make that big of a difference.

  10. that is what my bike looks like now. Placing the crank arms inside the chainring surely did make my bike quieter! I never thought it was that loud, but it tended to make kind of a zipper noise, but now it's nearly silent unless i'm really working it!
Problem is, the crank arms are now too far in to clear the chain guard. I'll have to try the outside if it doesn't rain this weekend, but man, that quietness is nice.

also, the sugino arms were supposed to be gold, but they are more orangish. Boo.
