Thread: Your top 3 Sci-Fi Moments

  1. Star Trek has a lot more resonant moments in it than SW. It's true.

  2. 3. Matrix - When the WB intro shows up prior to the movie all the way through to when the credits began to roll.

    2. Aliens - When the door opens up and Ripley comes out with that exo-suit and dukes it out with the alien queen.

    1. Prelude to Foundation - When the Mayor of Wye reveals to Hari Seldon right in front of Hari's protector, Chetter Hummin, that Chetter and Hari's pursuer, the emperor's right-hand man, Eto Demerzel, were the same person. What blew my mind when I read this was that it seems like something that can only be effectively done in books. The book openly describes Chetter's actions and Eto's actions throughout the story, but you picture them as two different people because you couldn't see what they look like. If this was made into a movie, they'd probably have to physically disguise one of the characters or have Eto Demerzel off-screen. But then people would probably figure it out half-way through the movie.

  3. Shit, you fuckers are pulling some great moments out of your asses. I'll just be content to hang back, watch and enjoy.

Dolemite, the Bad-Ass King of all Pimps and Hustlers
Gymkata: I mean look at da lil playah woblin his way into our hearts in the sig awwwwwww

  4. Seriously, this is gonna be a good thread.

    Alternate three:

    3. "Car chase through the woods scene" - Children of Men

    2. "OMG Godzilla is actually MECHAGODZILLA" - G vs M.G.

    1. "The LINE! Must be DRAWN! HEYAH!" - Picard

    First Contact?

  7. Naturally. The other two were more "scenes" than quotes.

  8. 3) Shell Beach - It's no Soylent Green, but it was no nature preserve either.
    2) "MOTHER? YOU BITCH!" - And just when we thought everything was going to be fine...
    1) "Hail to the King, Baby!" - Army of Darkness - I'm sorry, but the Shootout at the S-Mart is pure refined cinema sweetness, the way every movie should end.

I'd just like to say facehuggers have to be the greatest invention in science fiction. Mouth rape + aliens living in your tummy = scare the shit out of me from age four to age twelve.
