Suggest Me NES Games: Nintendo Entertainment System

I picked up the 20th anniversary issue of Nintendo Power on a whim. I guess Nintendo doesn't publish it themselves anymore. Anyway, here is a list of their top 20 NES games of all time (it has a list like this for all of their systems). I am pleased to see they remembered DuckTales.

I can't believe I'm saying something nice about Nintendo Power, but that's actually a pretty good list. The top two positions are backwards, and the first Final Fantasy sucked and should be replaced with Dragon Quest III, but other than that, it's solid.

Yeah, it had some neat music and graphics but I never really played it much.

Staying near 8-bit territory, their top 20 Game Boy / Game Boy Color games were:

5. Zelda: Oracle of Time (yes, they counted it as two games)

12. Metroid II (CRIMINALLY low on this list imo)

19. Shantae (this one came out in 2002!)

Well, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 came after Super Mario Bros., so it's natural to consider it as "Mario 1." Unless you want to call it, "Mario Bros. 2: Super Mario Bros," "Mario Bros. 3: Super Mario Bros. 2," etc.

Yeah, but out of context, I think just saying “Mario 1” should refer to the first Mario Bros.

The original Mario Bros. was brilliant at the time, and is still a good game. This was a couple years before SMB, and the experience was new. Bashing enemies from below, the competitive/co-op gameplay, all the neat little animations separated it from all the Space Panic and DK clones. It was probably my most played arcade game around ’83-84.
