Yeah this game is really creative. I like the enemies that draw pictures on the tiles.

I would say that Dragon Quest IV holds up reasonably well; however, with a DS remake coming out later this year, I guess it just wouldn't make any sense to bother.

On a completely unrelated-to-RPGs note, I would recommend Deja Vu. It was a fun, moody little point-and-clicker way back in the day. Of course, it might be rather unplayable now, and this could just be nostalgia talking.

I think it's free to play on PCs now, I took it for a spin a couple months ago. Was pretty decent, though I never finished it.

  6. Has anyone mentioned Return to Silius and Robowarrior?
Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.

I still have that music in my head after all these years.

  8. Kabuki is bizarre. It's weird to see a HAL game that isn't totally cutesy.

Speaking of, this thread also reminded me of Lolo, which I could see myself going through.

Lots of games mentioned here that seem awesome from brief looks, thanks again everyone.

  9. I picked up the 20th anniversary issue of Nintendo Power on a whim. I guess Nintendo doesn't publish it themselves anymore. Anyway, here is a list of their top 20 NES games of all time (it has a list like this for all of their systems). I am pleased to see they remembered DuckTales.

    1. Zelda
    2. Mario 3
    3. Mega Man 2
    4. Mario 1
    5. Metroid
    6. Mike Tyson's Punch Out! (yes they listed the original)
    7. Contra
    8. Mario 2
    9. Castlevania III
    10. Ninja Gaiden
    11. Mega Man 3
