Thread: Batman: Arkham Asylum

  1. Neat.

I still need to do most of the predator rooms, I've been obsessed with the combat challenges. I've always been terrible at stealth sections of games.

  2. Oh hay, forgot to post about this.

I finally got the PC version. I knew the game would be good, I just had no idea it would be THIS good. God almighty I love the grapple thing.

Where the hell did Rocksteady come from, anyway? An excellent LICENSED game with ridiculous production values? On their first try? It hurts to even think about.

It's their second game. Their first was Urban Chaos: Riot Response which was good but not as good as Batman (I'm basing this on what I played of the PC Batman demo; I assume the full game kicks as much ass).

I think it helps a lot that it has nothing to do with a movie tie in. They weren't strapped with movie set pieces or a film release date. It's ultra polished too, they must have made the best of the delay they gave the game.

It's a lot better than the demo. The combat engine is much deeper than the demo let on. The pacing of the game is fantastic too.

  5. Batman completely wrecks Riot Response in terms of presentation, and is a pretty good game, but I might like Riot Response more at this point.

  6. I'm 82% complete on Normal, just about to fight Ivy and (maybe) 35% through on hard, love this freaking game. I didn't realize that half the Riddler challenges you have to actually scan instead of pick up until 3 days ago, which makes finding shit a lot easier. I do have a question though; I see a lot of question marks in detective mode and when I scan them it gives me the "solution partially found" or whatever message. I scan the entire area and get nothing. WTF am I doing wrong?

  7. You're probably only seeing a partial question mark. You have to find the other part of the mark somewhere in the room, line them up so that it makes a full symbol, then run the scan.

those are the only interesting puzzles.
    Pete DeBoer's Tie
There are no rules, only consequences.

  9. For some reason that makes sense, fuck I've got some more backtracking to do. Thank you though!

  10. I don't like games that make me think... ep you're completely right. Wow I wasted a LOT of time in this game. Jesus.

Edit: that first post was rep, dunno why it's a post but I hope you got repped for it.
