My pick is "Full Contact" (1993) starring Chow Yun Fat and Simon Yam
I was born in Hong Kong, so I want to pick a HK film. Of course, when one think of HK movies, Chow Yun Fat is probably the most recognizable name outside of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. He had done so many classics, but Full Contact is particularly memorable to me. First, he plays a villain (which he usually don't do). Second, this movie tanked in HK from what I gather so it is not one of his more popular movies. Third, Simon Yam is in it (in terms of acting abilities, I think he is as good as CYF).
Hopefully, not many of you had seen this. I haven't watched it in awhile, so I have forgotten alot of it. Time to watch it again!
EDIT: I forgot that the theme song was sung by Alan Tam, my favorite HK singer. I recall the song was played in the middle of the movie.... maybe you guys will like it (or not).

Good timing as it looks like I'm headed right for an Asian action cinema block through netflix. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen this, I like CYF a lot too.
Chow DOESN'T play a villain here, just a anti hero (not a clean, goody two shoes). Simon Yam is the villain.
This is definitely one of my most favorite HK films of late 80s and early 90s, among with The Killer and Hardboiled. Highly recommended.
Some spoilers here !!!!
This film has quite a different feel from most of HK films of that time, with its hard rock atmosphere, Chow in leather, riding the big bike and kicking ass. Simon Yam is awesome as flamboyantly gay but extremely vicious villain and Anthony Wong gives decent performance as Chow friend, who betray him for greed and women.
Ringo Lam direction is on fire, and while not really action packed, what it has, hit hard.
While watching I thought this was right out of the 80's with the hilarious electric guitar power riffs at every dramatic turn. Solid movie, doesn't waste anytime and keeps the pace going. Simple story, but it worked. I like CYF and he didn't disappoint me here. Some quality fight choreography, big explosions and lots of people getting shot. Hits all the good action points whenever the time comes.
