Thread: Arrested Development Season 4 (IT'S ON), Film (IT'S ON)

  1. I still think it is better than more than 95% of comedy shows, bit I would agree with that.

  2. oh my god isla fisher.

It's like it's running furiously on a treadmill but thinks it's in a track meet.
The DSM IV calls this "Venture Bros. Syndrome".

Also, I still love the Venture Bros, anyway. Shut up.

The whole season is one ridiculously intertwined story, and it does feel like it's going kind of fast.

Not as good as it was at it's best, but not bad at all.

Venture Bros, is a shadow of the show it was, and these multi-year breaks to write 8 fucking episodes has me not giving two shits about them any more.

  6. The last episode of Venture Bros. aired BEFORE I HAD A KID. What is this I can not

  7. RE: Venture Bros. I don't care how long it is between seasons. It really does get better every season. Also, the muti-year breaks: interviews say that they like that it disappears for two years at at a time, but it's not like it's intentional. Doc Hammer and Publick do the voices for half the cast, and are constantly switching studios and wondering if each new season will be their last. It's worth the wait every time.

Arrested Development: The magic is gone, or at least, not enough of it inhabits each individual episode. IMO, the character piece episodes should have been dropped, and the season should have been 10 episodes.

  8. They hand draw everything for venture bros, that's why it takes so long.

It's not that they get cancelled and all work on other project and spend almost a decade talking about maybe getting back together and then use a different style of story telling then they finally do. They just take their time to make sure it's all perfect, which it is. Season 4 is the best season, hands down. VB4LYFESON

That sounds like a giant dose of bullshit to me. The guys from South Park do more the voices for more than half the cast, and they will re-write an entire episode from scratch in days. Hammer and Publick are just painfully slow at writing material. The last season was REALLY disappointing and no it hasn't been worth the wait. The specials they've done to appease the fan base also haven't been awesome.

Entire feature length movies are hand drawn in less time. Plus I think the last special wasn't, and was done in the sealabs/archer/etc way of doing it. Season just wasn't there for me, Season 2, some parts of Season 3 were the highlights for me.
