Thread: Thirty Is the New Twenty

  1. I don't think I'd ditch my mom, either. But in that scenario you're entitled to the house a lot more than a kid mooching. You have some say around the house because you're paying the bills. That's an entirely different scenario.

But yeah I think there is a greater amount of time spent away from marriage. Guys are benefiting from it and I think women are too. As long as kids arent born in single families then all is good.
I lived with a couple like that. Her idea of maturity was watching Will and Grace.

And yeah, I defentially agree that women are not growing up as fast too. Most 20-25 year old women I know are very immature.

  3. I am, easily, the most immature person I know, which I'm certainly not proud of. In fact, I would go so far as to say I am literally socially retarded. No, I take that back, you put a retard and me in a room, and tell us to both be social, I'd lose. Socially Sub Retard.

    What is "serious progression"?

  6. having a serious job so you can pay off the serious money you owe for your serious progress?

No it's not. Drink it neat or mix it with something that supports it. Don't dilute it. One side of the fence or the other.

  8. Eh, fuck what people think. I'm 35, married and a home owner with 2 kids and 2 college degrees, and people still look at me weird when I talk about video games. I learned a long time ago not to try and live up to anyone else's standards, and that you're fine as long as you're trying to get ahead in life and do right by your loved ones. I couldn't care less what people think of my game playing, since none of them buy my games.

I got married at 25, as I was finishing my MA and saving up for the wedding. I don't see the particular rush to get out of the house by 18 and practically severing ties with the family. Moochers suck, of course, but everyone has their own circumstances, and just because you reached a particular age doesn't mean it's time to GTFO if everyone in your life is cool with the situation. I bought a house right down the street from my mom so she could be close to her grand kids, and my brother moved to Florida. We have no problem with his decision (though I wish I could see him more), but no one would have complained if he had stayed home and worked here.

  9. That's how Puerto Rico is. It's why you guys are still not a state.

  10. Latins in general believe in extended families. That's not particular to only PR.
