again lol.
Monster of the week episodes always was weakest part of Fringe, and with mythology build up at the end of season 1 through 3, it became much more than simple Xfiles ripoff, people were calling it at the start.
I agree, the show started out cool, but is spiraling down into like.... Charmed-level dumb and ridiculous bullshit. The MOTW episodes were the best thing the show, and the overarching story is insulting.
I read a couple of the above spoilers and I'm so glad I quit after season 2. It's worse than I thought it would be.

I just started watching this a few months ago. It's taken me this long just to get to season 3.
A few Qs for those who were into it.
1) Like I said, It took me a long time to get through the first two seasons (due to lack of time, not interest). Did they ever explain what was the deal with Mark Paul Valley in the first season? I sometimes fall asleep during an episode, so maybe I missed something.
2) I guess they always said Pacey was kinda smart, but I never saw evidence until the tail end of season 2. Now he knows medicine, how to disarm alien technology, and all kinds of shit. What is going on there? Did he tell the People I Charge that he wanted his role to more than Olivia's sidekock (that's a typo, but I'm leaving it) and Walter's interpreter?
Looking through this thread, I guess I'm glad I'm watching via netflix and Amazon. I'm surprised the show lasted considering how fucked the schedule was. And I agree with whoever, the time travelling robocop episode was pretty great.
I think I watched up until that animated episode.
Someone recently told me I should have kept watching it. Does it get good after that point?
look here, upon a sig graveyard.
I just started the 10th episode of the third season.
It's Doc Brown!
The mythology is really pulling me in. I assume the observers are "First People" and the machine somehow merges two parallel worlds or some shit.
They used it on our world, taking them to a better one and leaving ours in shit. But from shit we sprang.
Walternate wants to take our world and leave us with his decaying one.
I don't get why his world's machine is missing pieces though.
I really hope they don't fuck this up with a corny ending.
I watched everything but the last season. Sorta lost interest in the 4th season once the gateway between worlds was built.

Yeah, there's some weird shit here and there, but they kept it together. There's one bit I really didn't like, but they never tried that shit again and never even mention it after. I like how it was ended too, pretty satisfying. There's an "oh snap!" at the end that references something that happened much earlier in the show, but I couldn't remember wtf it meant so I missed the real meaning. I'm going to watch it all over again sometime.
So nothing on the mark paul valley plotline?
What did you think about the musical episode?
I'm on what can only be "the 80s episode." Cool intro!
edit:OMG the toy store! I wanna go frame by frame to see what I can see!

Loved the 80's episode, I think there was at least one more too.
