I own it as well. Kinda weird towards the end, but its not worth suffering through.

  2. Last few nights have been pretty good. I started to watch Critters on Thursday but I passed right the hell out before Billy Zane even came on. Watched it the next day, way more fun than I thought it was going to be, especially for a movie that's basically "people get attacked by puppets"

Yesterday I had some friends over and they vetoed my suggestion of Last House on the Left (pussies) so we watched Cat People instead, which was really good. My brother has that whole Val Lewton box set, so I'll have to check out others.

After they left I put in Last House on the Left and was kind of let down by it. After all of the hype that surrounds it, I expected it to beat me into a pulp, but it just didn't. The music and overall goofy tone prevents it from leaving any real impression.

Tonight was New York Ripper, which started weird considering the rather stupid angle of having the killer talk like a duck. Still, the razorblade murder was fucking crazy, I didn't expect that.

I picked up The Haunting for tomorrow.

  3. Yeah, I really liked Last House on the Left. Overall though, I was kind of let down.

You should fit Sleepaway Camp in somewhere during the rest of the month. The next one comes out in early November.
"I see the world didn't end yesterday."

    "Are you sure?"

  4. Sleepaway camp is so awesome

  5. The duck voice in New York Ripper was super rad

Also check out Street Trash, it's the most bestest

  6. I saw Sleepaway Camp 2 last year but not the first, I'll pick it up for the end of the week.

Watched Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master tonight. I've only really seen the first three nightmare movies so I decided what the hell. Freddy as a character is a great concept but he, at least in this one, is pretty harmless. The girl in the water bed had nice hooters though.

Another thing about the Nightmare series is that it actually follows a storyline and keeps characters between movies, which is just strange compared to someone accustomed to Friday the 13th (beyond the whole Tommy Jarvis whateversiwhat). I haven't seen Part 3 in a couple of years and when this started I really didn't know what the fuck was going on for a spell.

Next two nights I got Cronenberg's Shivers and Near Dark.

I could probably do this for a year and not really get tired of it.

*Edit - Funny thing happened to me today. I was on a sort of informational interview today with this HR guy, and the waitress at the diner where we were eating pitched her zombie movie idea to us. Something about ghosts inhabiting the bodies of zombies to stop the apocalypse. I don't really see it panning out for her.

  7. Well I managed to do this, I was keeping a full list on the first page, but I'll just paste it again for the fuck of it:

    10/01: High Tension
    10/02: The Howling
    10/03: Re-Animator
    10/04: The Descent
10/05: The Last Man on Earth
    10/06: Wizard of Gore
10/07: In the Mouth of Madness
    10/08: Maniac
    10/09: Curse of Frankenstein
    10/10: Videodrome
    10/11: Opera
    10/12: Audition
    10/13: Fright Night
10/14: Creature from the Black Lagoon
    10/15: Carrie
    10/16: Diary of the Dead
    10/17: C.H.U.D.
    10/18: The Host
    10/19: Monster Squad
    10/20: The Funhouse
    10/21: The Orphanage
10/22: Andy Warhol's Flesh for Frankenstein
    10/23: Critters (Sort of)
10/24: Cat People/Last House on the Left
    10/25: New York Ripper
    10/26: The Haunting (1963)
10/27: A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
    10/28: Near Dark
    10/29: Shivers
    10/30: My Bloody Valentine
    10/31: White Zombie

Near Dark was kind of disappointing, Shivers was weird, My Bloody Valentine was not as good as the band, and Bela Legosi is like the fucking worst actor ever. Well, except he has this thing going on:

I will admit that I fell asleep during some of these, but I watched all of them. I also watched some movies I've already seen but didn't note. Good month all around, shit, it's the first and I watched Friday the 13th Part 3 just now. I think I could do this for a year and not really grow tired of it.

  8. next year: maximum overdrive and frankenhooker

  9. I fucking love Maximum Overdrive so much!!!
