37 games and counting where the Rangers have scored 2 goals or less. They completely outplayed the Panthers and outchanced them 19-9 and outshot them something like 40-24 and lose 2-1. Hard to watch.
Well that was a fucking phenomenal game to be at. I don't have a voice now.
Interesting notes: Rolston back with Elias and Gionta and yet Elias can still only convert on the power play. Devils need to find a way to coax more 5 on 5 scoring out of those guys. I'm not sure if Rolston has the footspeed to play there, we'll see.
Mottau was atrocious tonight. But it didn't matter, because ONE OF the most important Devils players was back on the ice: Paul Martin, who played a stellar game and got points to boot. He is crucial to the team.

Here are my somewhat realistic hopes, not to be confused with predictions, for the final East standings:
1. Boston
2. New Jersey
3. Washington
4. Florida
5. Philadelphia
6. Carolina
7. Montreal
8. Buffalo
A lot of those hopes are based on match ups. I hate facing divisional opponents in the playoffs, so I am hoping Carolina can at least put up a good, long fight with the Caps, for instance. I also like that the Devils wouldn't face a goalie until the conference finals this way, and that's only if Florida or Boston get through.
