Watch the Devils win tonight. 80% likely to happen.
Apparently Brodeur's tendon was already like 80% torn and just finally gave way against Atlanta. When the rehab is complete, the tendon will be stronger than it has been in likely a couple of years.
http://njmg.typepad.com/devilsblog/2...usly-torn.html"It will be stronger," Brodeur said. "They guaranteed me it's going to be stronger than it was before. They don't even know how long I played with it like that (partially torn). But they said, 'You'll get stronger.' I don't know if that means I'm going to be quicker. Does it mean it's going to be better? I hope so. That's going to be the rehab part of it."

I'd be very surprised. This team's taken a huge shit, not just because of the injuries but because the other line that is supposed to be solid is showing its age and hasn't been remotely effective. If Sutter keeps Madden, Pandolfo and Elias together then we have 1.5 lines to play, and 2 quality d-men with the absence of Martin and Greene.
Sutter has given crazy ice time to the top 3 "lines"...really the top 2 "lines", if you can call them lines because he's only kept one line together all year, and the team has been losing and everybody's been getting tired. I'm sure the day off on Monday helped, but honestly. This kind of workload will probably result in more injuries to the top players.
Two players on the team lost teeth from Sunday to now. Lucky they didn't lose more.

Which is the perfect time for the Rangers to forget to show up, take your team to lightly, and not score on their old backup goalie.
Let's see if the ol' Rangers Crystal Ball (RCB) is still working...
Players who have taken a shit: Pandolfo, Madden, Langenbrunner.
Players who have improved compared to last year: Zajac (he had a bad game about a week ago where he had a few huge defensive miscues), Zubrus (sometimes.../I guess that's not an improvement), Oduya, Salvador.
Players who haven't changed since last year: Elias, Clarkson, Gionta, White.
Players who are playing a bit better maybe: Mottau
Rookies or shit players: Vrana, Bergfors (not starting tonight I think), Brookbank, Salmela (has good and bad games, no speed), Rupp (who has actually played VERY WELL...for Rupp. He still gives you zero offensive production), Leach.
And then you have Parise, who is a star.
That's our lineup. It's basically Parise vs. the Rangers, just like it's been Parise vs. every other team since the injuries.
"You should've seen all the e-mails on my website. It was crazy," Brodeur said. "'Don't worry, Marty, I had that.' I got all the stories about what they did to recover and how long it took. I got all their experiences. I got a couple of e-mails from Rangers fans. They said, 'It takes a year or two.'
Marty isn't even the Devils biggest problem. Scoring is. They have the least goals in the conference and when you couple that with losing Brodeur, then that adds up to a likely very long season in NJ.
Yeah to Langenbrunner, too. He's been underachieving since getting the "C" and plays as if the rules were still pre-lockout.
Rangers center Scott Gomez won't play in tonight's game against the Devils because of a leg injury.
I'm glad they got refs for this game that aren't calling a typical girly NHL game. After 1, that's about as much as you could have asked for as a Devils fan.
