Thread: NHL 2008-2009 Regular Season Thread

I've known that for a long time, what frustrates me is that all these players that have been signed to big contracts to see out their viable careers have all taken huge shits. Except Marty.

I didn't need his injury to realize this. You're talking about guys who aren't even remotely in Brodeur's league. He'll literally be impossible replace, likely ever.

I started out how you guys react to bad losses. Then, about 3 years ago ... it changed. Now I have those epic rants. Trust me you keep it bottled up ...

Also: You can have Nittymaki if you want. He sucks ... FOR US ANYWAY. I bet a change of scenery would help him ... oh and a better defense.

If NJ is going to miss the playoffs, I'd rather crash and burn completely and get one of those nice top 5 picks the Rangers and Penguins stockpiled by sucking ass several years in a row.

Richter and Giacomin were comparable for a few years, but career-wise you're right and the fact that we waited that long for guys that weren't comparable to Brodeur makes it that much clearer how hard it's going to be for your club down the road. Unfortunately, your club has been built around Brodeur's abilities for the past 5 seasons and nobody is looking ahead.

The Rangers have had two top 5 picks in the last 32 years. What are you talking about?

Top 10 in their case, but it's the Pens that built their whole team by being awful.

  8. There is apparently some talk that the Devils may try to trade for Roloson, as he is a veteran with an expiring contract who could step in and provide some decent goaltending until Marty gets back to the future.

  9. Rolosson had some great years in MN, but he is not the dynamo he once was anymore. But he is one of the better veterans available. He is probably going to get bounced somewhere considering Edmonton is currently doing a 3 Goalie Rotation.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  10. Well, its pretty much a given that Roloson is done in Edmonton, they aren't carrying 3 goalies because they love em all. And its not like he can't play either. He's been pretty good so far this year.
