Who is worse: Langs or Elias? It's not really a legit question because the answer is obvious, but you have to wonder.

Uh oh, Semin's not on the bench. He better not go down, he's my whole fantasy team.

    Answer to question confirmed.
    Semin is injured.
    Gio's hands are gone?

Langs can't do shit. Look at this last bit. He lost a battle along the boards, made a bad pass back, etc.

    God we are terrible.

  3. If I ran a professional sports franchise, I would want a Head Coach (interim or not) that plead guilty to conspiracy and promoting gambling a year and a half ago.

Rick Tocchet is now the interim coach of the Lightning.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  4. LOL @ Melrose being gone already.

Its dumb. Just watched the ESPN interview he had, and Barry made a pretty good point that their record is 5-7-4, with 5 of their loses being against NYR, SJS, and DET - three of the best teams in the league. Thats a lot to ask of a new coach with a team that did not even make the playoffs last year. Not sure what new coach, with his level of previous experience, could have done better.

I'm sure Rick Toccet will do wonders for them. Morons.

  6. Take away Prague and he's .500 with a shit team. I don't know what they're expecting in TB.

  7. They are expecting, I imagine, to lose the franchise, since it was reported this week that they can't meet payroll, and if you're gonna lose the franchise you might as well do what an owner gets to do at least once, and fire a bitch.

How does Tampa win the Stanley Cup in 2004 and lose the franchise four years later? Worst cup winner ever.

Every team in the Atlantic won tonight. Ugh, Washington.

Devils are currently 7 of 8 in ppg in the east, 29th out of 30 on both the PK and the PP, and are worst in the league in win % after leading in the first period. (.400). They've dropped to second in 5 on 5 gf/ga ratio, but after tonight that will probably drop (they were 1.00), I don't know if these stats are up to date including Saturday's games.

hm, how do I bench Nabokov against Chicago tomorrow? I guess I don't, but Chicago has the second-highest g/g so far, though the numbers are skewed because of two six goal games against Colorado and Calgary.

The Devils win was nice, but also awful. The team has no consistency on either side of the puck. As a professional sports team you want to eliminate variance as much as possible, and play as consistent (and good) a game as you can. Seeing spikes of goals scored doesn't really encourage me until the scoring becomes a trend, and giving up 5 to a Washington team playing WITHOUT the NHL points leader is pretty bad. The worst part, Clemmer played a good game, almost every goal he let in was the defense letting him out to dry.

I was pretty drunk though, so maybe Clemmer didn't play as well as I thought. I'm going to watch it again and see, but apparently Washingtin's 1, 3, and 4 goals weren't great. Clemmenson did struggle with glove control tonight, as far as I remember. I just cleaned up doggie puke.

Oh, and apparently a Saturday night game against one of the most fun teams to watch in Hockey with $1 hot dogs = last night's attendance was 17,051.
